At next week's Toolkit 6 User Group webinar, Doug Gerlach will be presenting tips on "Interpreting Sell Indicators in Toolkit 6." If you've ever pondered the task of selling a stock, this webinar is for you!

The Toolkit 6 User Group webinars are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 9 pm ET and are free to attend. Advance registration is required. A schedule of topics for upcoming Toolkit 6 User Group webinars is available in the StockCentral Learning Library.

Archives of past webinars are available for viewing on demand, as well. Visit the ICLUB website for links to our growing library of webinars on a variety of topics, including how to use ICLUBcentral software, investment club operations, and portfolio management.

We look forward to seeing you among the hundreds of attendees expected at next week's webinar!

A Sneak Preview of the September 2010 Investor Advisory Service

The September 2010 issue of the Investor Advisory Service will be published tomorrow, Friday, August 27, 2010. Current subscribers may log in and read or download the issue after 4:00 pm Eastern Time.

In this issue, the IAS analysts look at the current state of the economy, writing that "Economic statistics can be funny things. It is actually quite rare that they all point in the same direction at once. Usually, one must look through a variety of statistics and interpretations in order to arrive at a general conclusion about the relative health of the economy."

They proceed to dissect the most important considerations and draw some conclusions about what lies ahead for investors: "At some point, we'll shake our collective funk and get into a more productive economy. U.S. companies are building and hiring overseas, fueling returns for U.S. investors even as they seem reluctant to invest in the United States. Eventually, this period of uncertainty will come to an end, and investor reward should be much greater than the halting progress that seems to be made at present."

As with each issue, the September IAS features three recommended stocks: a large dot-com business, a midsized pharma company, and large financial firm. Whatever your particular portfolio needs may be, you can likely find candidates in each month's IAS.

Investing is Risky Business — Or Is It?

Investors and clubs use several strategies to keep the risk in their portfolios at a manageable level. Analyzing stocks with tools such as Toolkit 6 to find high-quality, well-managed companies is a great place to begin.

But that's not all. In the September issue of BetterInvesting magazine, ICLUBcentral's Doug Gerlach discusses how clubs and investors can keep their portfolios in balance — and how a balanced portfolio helps reduce the risk of investing in the stock market.

In addition, Doug illustrates how using the Portfolio Diversification Reports available to clubs on the myICLUB.com website are a great way to keep up to date with changes to your investment club portfolio.

How is your portfolio doing in this uncertain market? Read the full text of Doug's article here and learn how you can add balance to your portfolio — and better manage the risks of investing in stocks.
