IAS 4 for 4: Named to 2013 Hulbert Honor Roll
For the fourth year in a row, the Investor Advisory Service has been named to the Hulbert Financial Digest's prestigious Investment Newsletter Honor Roll.
The Newsletter Honor Roll acknowledges those newsletters that exhibit above-average performance in both up and down markets. The 2013 Investment Newsletter Honor Roll includes 14 letters that have exceeded the market since March 31, 2000, thus identifying newsletters that display a high level of consistency during all phases of the stock market's cycles.
Hulbert began tracking the Investor Advisory Service's performance in the mid-1990s, so the IAS was first eligible for inclusion on their Honor Roll in 2010. That year also marked the Investor Advisory Service's first year on the Newsletter Honor Roll. IAS has received the honor every year since then as well, giving it a perfect four-for-four record.
Since March 31, 2000, the Investor Advisory Service's stock picks have earned an exceptional annualized 8.9% gain through Nov. 30, 2012, quadrupling the mere 1.9% annual return of the Wilshire 5000 Total Stock Market Index during the same period.
According to Mark Hulbert, editor of the Hulbert Financial Digest, just 17% of all HFD-monitored newsletters made it onto the Honor Roll, suggesting that making it onto the Honor Roll "really means something."

Doug Gerlach, Kamie Zaracki to Present at World MoneyShow in Orlando
ICLUBcentral's very own Doug Gerlach and Kamie Zaracki will share stock investing tips and insights at The World MoneyShow, Jan. 30-Feb. 2, 2013, at the Gaylord Palms & Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
Doug will discuss small-cap stock investing at 4 p.m. on February 1, providing ideas for small-company stocks to help enhance your own or your investment club's portfolio. He'll also reveal the five rules of small-cap stock investing as well as outline common pitfalls to avoid in pinpointing small-company opportunities. At 11:30 a.m. on February 2, Doug will teach attendees dividend analysis for growth stock investors. He'll cover concepts such as yield, the payout ratio, and the importance of not chasing dividends in your stock portfolio.
In his capacity as Editor-in-Chief of the Investor Advisory Service newsletter, Doug will also participate in a panel discussion on Thursday, Jan. 31, of top-rated newsletter editors led by Mark Hulbert of the Hulbert Financial Digest. Along with Doug, the panel features some of the recipients of Hulbert's 2013 Newsletter Honor Roll, including Louis Navellier, Roger Conrad and James Lowell. The discussion will offer up ideas for 2013 and review common problems affecting individual investor performance in the market.
Kamie will be giving two presentations at the show. On Thursday, Jan. 31, from 2:15 p.m to 2:45 p.m. she'll discuss the keys to successful fundamental stock selection and the rationale for long-term investing in growth equities in her session Empowering Individual Investors. The next day, from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Kamie will identify the key principles for using funds in your IRA and 401(k) as well as rules to use in selecting winning mutual funds in Making Money with Mutual Funds.
