Directions for Transferring Club Data to Club Accounting

InvestClub, Inc. has ceased operations and will no longer update nor support any of its investment club software. We recommend that users of the InvestClub software transfer their club accounting data to the official software of BetterInvesting (the National Association of Investors Corp., NAIC), used successfully by more than 65,000 investment clubs since 1989. Both desktop and online versions of Club Accounting are available.

These directions for transferring investment club data from the InvestClub software to Club Accounting software products are intended to help clubs negatively affected by InvestClub’s demise. Please note that we cannot guarantee the accuracy or completeness of data exported by the InvestClub software.

To Export Club Data from InvestClub into the Club Accounting data format
The first step in moving your investment club’s data from the InvestClub software to the Club Accounting software is to organize your club’s data into a form that will be read-able by the software. Just follow these steps to export your club’s data into a file format that will enable you to transfer it to the software.

  1. First, open the InvestClub software.
  2. Select FILE > EXPORT > EXPORT TO NCADATA.DAT
  3. Select a location for saving the file. We recommend saving it to a floppy diskette (usually the A: drive). The file is saved as NCADATA.DAT
  4. InvestClub contains cash accounts not used in the Club Accounting software. During the export, you are given the option to place your current accounts into the standard Bank, Broker, Petty Cash, or Suspense accounts. Note that Management Fees and Organizational Expenses should usually go into Bank rather than Petty Cash!
  5. Click OK.
  6. After the data has saved, click OK again.
Now your club’s data is ready for import into Club Accounting software! Both online and desktop versions are available of the Club Accounting software, and you can easily move club data from one to the other. Please follow the directions below to import your club data into either Club Accounting Online or into Club Accounting for Windows.
