What is the Complete Roster of Quality Companies?
A. The Complete Roster of Quality Companies is a monthly stock screen designed by Ellis Traub (author of Take Stock) that is included with subscriptions to both Investing Software Maintenance and Take Stock. The Complete Roster of Quality Companies searches for companies that display critical indicators of growth and efficiency—qualities that you’re looking for as a long-term investor. In other words, the Roster screens for companies with strong and steady revenue and earnings growth, management efficiency, and skill in managing company resources. The Roster provides you with a solid list of companies on which you may then perform your own, deeper stock analysis. A sample issue and more information are available.
What are Investment Comments?
A. Subscribers to Investing Software Maintenance also receive monthly "Investment Comments" courtesy of the Investor Advisory Service. These provide important insight into the state of the markets and economy, and can help you to better understand the "big picture" in building your own portfolio.
What is the publishing schedule for the Complete Roster of Quality Companies?
A. The Complete Roster is generally published by the Wednesday following the first Sunday of a month. This date can change due to holidays or other unforeseen circumstances, however.
When will my Investing Software Maintenance/Complete Roster subscription expire?
A. When you log in to the Complete Roster, your subscription expiration date will be listed in the top left corner of the page. Please be sure to make note of this date and renew before your appropriate subscription expires in order to maintain uninterrupted service.
Why didn't I receive my new issue alert for the Complete Roster?
A. Generally, subscribers do not receive email from ICLUBcentral because of spam/bulk mail filtering in place on the user's computer or on the email server. This filters mistakenly mark ICLUBcentral email as bulk mail and do not deliver them to the user's inbox. You can configure your email software to always direct email from ICLUBcentral to your inbox, bypassing any bulk mail filters. Further instructions for configuring email for some common Internet providers are available.
Can I receive the Complete Roster by e-mail?
A. No. The Complete Roster is only available on the ICLUBcentral web site. This ensures that all subscribers can access the information on a timely basis. This will also allow us to publish the archives of past issues in case you missed an issue.
How do I use the information in the Complete Roster of Quality Companies?
A. The Complete Roster of Quality Companies is created using the same tests of quality that are used on the Stock Selection Guide. To use the information on the Complete Roster, open up your SSG software -- Stock Analyst, Investor's Toolkit or Classic Plus -- and enter or import the data for one of the tickers on the Roster. The Quality Ratings in the Complete Roster are computed in exactly the same way in ICLUBcentral's Take Stock program.
Now, review Sections 1 and 2A of the SSG. You'll see that the stocks on the Complete Roster all pass the minimum test of quality in those sections -- with consistent long-term growth of earnings, as observed on the Page 1 graph, and stable profit margins, in Section 2A.
Quality is only part of the equation, however. From there, you must continue your SSG analysis to determine if a stock is reasonably valued at its current price. Move on to Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Stock Selection Guide and decide if a stock is a "good buy" right now. When you find a company that's in your Buy Zone, provides an up-side/down-side ratio of greater than three-to-one and can generate a total return that's acceptable to you, you can move on to conduct the in-depth research necessary to fully understand the company and make a final decision.
How do I subscribe to the Investing Software Maintenance and the Complete Roster of Quality Companies?
A. The Complete Roster of Quality Companies is included with subscriptions to ICLUBcentral's Investing Software Maintenance program for just $33 a year. You may also receive the Complete Roster of Quality Companies by subscribing to Take Stock.
