Classic Plus
Premier educational software teaches investing from A to Z
Classic Plus is perfect for anyone who wants to use time-tested methodologies. If you are a beginner, the program will teach you to invest the correct way. The software’s beginner mode walks you step-by-step through the BetterInvesting's official forms for stock analysis and portfolio management. It even offers feedback on data trends and your judgments to help you learn! If you’re a more experienced investor, you can select the experienced user mode, which lets you skip the hand-holding and dive right into detailed analysis.
Classic Plus helps you pick stocks
- The Stock Check List (SCL) helps you complete a basic stock analysis, including recent sales and earning history, plus whether it seems like a good buy at its current price.
- Investors use the Stock Selection Guide (SSG) to dig into the past 5 to 10 years of a company's history and to predict future performance.
- The SSG Graph measures management’s recent success at growing sales and earnings, while the more in-depth SSG Analysis evaluates the quality of management, reviews historical price-earnings ratios (PE’s), evaluates future risk and reward, and measures potential return of your investment.
- The SSG Report summarizes your judgments, helping you decide whether the stock studied will meet your investing goals.
- The Stock Comparison Guide (SCG) helps you quickly review important differences between companies, looking at growth, management, price, and other criteria.
Manage your portfolio
- The PMG Report monitors changes in the value of a stock you’re holding, using expectations previously set in your SSG study for comparison.
- The PMG Graph helps you visualize current and historical valuation for a stock, helping you uncover buying opportunities and identify “red flag” situations.
- PERT A is a worksheet that records quarterly financial information and calculates interim performance so that you can review short-term achievements and compare them to expectations. This data is plotted in PERT Graphics.
- PERT B uses 10 years of data to yield greater insight into variations of value.
- The PERT Report summarizes PMG, PERT A, and PERT B so that you can confirm that stocks in your portfolio are performing as expected.
Automatic data entry
- A subscription to the online S&P data feed is updated daily and allows subscribers to retrieve financial data on over 7,000 stocks with just one click of your mouse.
