Support for Take Stock
The current version of ICLUB TakeStock is 4.1.3.
How do I update my version of Take Stock?
In April 2008, ICLUBcentral released a very important update to our Take Stock software program. You must follow the instructions below to download and install the update to your current software program.
This update changes the data source in the program to use the StockCentral.com data feed. StockCentral.com's data is provided by Hemscott USA, a division of Morningstar, Inc., and provides up to ten years of historical fundamental company data, including fully normalized earnings per share figures.
With this change in Take Stock, the program now uses the same data that is used in the Complete Roster of Quality Companies, the StockCentral Stock Screener, and the online version of Take Stock at StockCentral.com. The Take Stock Quality Ratings and other calculated values will now match among all of these ICLUBcentral products. The superior data provided by Hemscott/Morningstar is also used to generate *.SSG data files for use in stock analysis software programs such as Investor's Toolkit, and is also provided for the Take Stock software program. Visit StockCentral.com for more information on the tools and data available from that site, or to sign up for a free 45-day trial.
Please note: This Take Stock update is not optional! The current S&P Data will be no longer available after April 18, 2008.
To update your software to the new StockCental.com data feed, you will need to download and install the update installer file. Please follow these instructions carefully. In order to update your program properly, you first must determine which version of Take Stock you own, and follow the instructions accordingly. (Note: the online version of Take Stock at StockCentral.com is not affected by this update.

Why doesn't the update find my copy of Take Stock?
If you try the update, and see a message that you do not have a copy of Take Stock installed, you have downloaded an update for a different version of Take Stock than what is on your computer. There are three possible versions of Take Stock that might be on your computer:
- ICLUB Take Stock - One of the easiest ways to tell ICLUB Take Stock is to open it up and look at the button toolbar near the top of the page. If the only buttons are Summary, Web, Preferences and Help, then you probably have ICLUB Take Stock. Right-click here and choose OPEN or RUN to get the right update.
- BetterInvesting Take Stock - One of the easiest ways to tell BetterInvesting Take Stock is to open it up and look at the button toolbar near the top of the page. If one of your buttons there says Wizard, you have BetterInvesting Take Stock. Right-click here and choose OPEN or RUN to get the right update
- Investware Take Stock - Investware Take Stock has a button set very similar to ICLUB Take Stock. To check, go to the Help menu, and choose About Take Stock. If the About window Says Investware Take Stock, please contact support; we need to get you a copy of ICLUB Take Stock, or get you signed up for StockCentral.
How do I renew my Take Stock subscription?
Take Stock includes one year of program updates, stock data and support. Also included is a subscription to The Complete Roster of Quality Companies, a monthly stock screen designed by Ellis Traub.
You may renew your subscription by selecting the renewal link on the right.
When I open Take Stock, it says, "Please Establish an Internet Connection."
This means that Take Stock has not yet been registered and you are still in demo mode.
- On the Buy, Register, and Demo screen, choose BUY.
- Close the web browser after it launches.
- Next, click "Demo" and close the demo after it launches.
- Try to Register again.
When I open Take Stock, the error "Runtime Error 5" appears.
