If you are using TakeStock on the StockCentral web site, and click on the SSG Front link, you may see a screen that does not show a graph, and gives no errors or messages about the problem. Depending on your browser, the screen may look like one of the following:
This is what you might see if Java is disabled in Internet Explorer; where the graph would normally show up is, instead, blank. To correct this, first close the SSG Front window. Next, tap or click the Tools button near the top right-hand corner of the browser window, and select Manage add-ons from the men that appears. In the new window that opens up, look for the heading Show that appears on the left hand side of the window, about half way down. Click the drop-down menu under this heading, and then select All add-ons. In the main part of the window, scroll through the add-ons until you find Java SE Runtime Environment; click to select it. Near the bottom right-hand corner of the window, click Enable, and then underneath that, click Close. This will enable Java to run on your computer. If you see any messages regrding java after trying this, please see FAQ 1246 Application blocked / Unable to see SSG graph on stockcentral.
This is what you might see if Java is disabled in Google Chrome. If you put the mouse pointer in the grey area near the puzzle piece, you will see a note "Java(TM) has been disabled. To re-enable it, please go to chrome://plugins. To correct this, first close the SSG Front window. Click in the address line of the Chrome browser, where the www.stockcnetral.com address shows up, and delete the entire address that shows up there. In it's place, type chrome://plugins and then click Enter. The screen that shows up will give a list of all plugins that Chrome is aware of. Scroll down the list until you find Java(TM), and click Enable; this will change the text to read Disable. Once you see the text change, close the browser window. You can now re-open Chrome, and go back to www.stockcentral.com to use TakeStock.

This is what you might see if Java is disabled in Mozilla Firefox. Under the small brick in the middle of the page, you will see a note "Activate Java Platform", followed by a letter and number combination showing the version of Java. Clicking this link will make a small alert box pop up at the top left corner of the window. The box will ask "Allow www.stockcentral.com to run 'Java Platform [and then the same letter and number combination as showed in the middle of the screen, under the brick] ' ?. You will see two buttons, Allow Now and Allow and Remember. The difference between these is the Allow Now button will only allow the page to work as long as you have are using the browser this time. If you close out of Firefox and then re-open it, you would need to click the Activate link again, and then click the Allow Now button as well. Clicking Allow and Remember instead will make sure that Firefox remembers that you will want to allow Java to run any time you are signed in to the www.stockcentral.com web site. We suggest to click Allow and Remember so that you do not need to go through these steps each time you want to use this feature of the site.
