ICLUB Insider August 23, 2006
THE LATEST NEWS ON INVESTING SOFTWARE BUILT BY ICLUBCENTRAL INC.

Summary

Join ICLUBcentral at BINC

Summer is winding down, which means two things: the kids are (mercifully) headed back to school, and the BetterInvesting National Convention is right around the corner.

BINC 2006 will be held at the Hyatt Regency in scenic Columbus, OH. Stretching from September 7th all the way through the afternoon of the 10th, this year's convention gives you a great excuse to use some of those vacation days you've been stockpiling since January. And if you're already basking in the warm embrace of retirement, then what are you waiting for? Get cracking on those SSGs, and meet us in Columbus!

ICLUBcentral will have robust representation at BINC, including presentations by investment guru rving Roth, as well as everybody's favorite Club Accounting specialist, Peg Keleher. Of course, no investing event would be complete without ICLUBcentral president Doug Gerlach teaching at least 758 classes. As of now, he's only scheduled to present "Secrets of Wall Street Analysts," "Which Software is Right for You" and his "Stock Selling Guide," but if history is any indication, that list will be well over double digits by September.

As usual, you'll always be able to find a few members of the ICLUBcentral team in the computer lab. At BINC, our technical support efforts will be led by John McHugh, who recently moved up from his position as a technical support representative into his new role as our Quality Assurance Engineer. Whether you've got questions about programs like Investor's Toolkit or you just want to take the new Club Accounting version 3.1 out for a spin, stop by the computer lab and pick the brains of our experts.

So come on down to Columbus and say hi to Doug, Irving, Ellis, Peg, John and the rest of the iGuys and iGals. We can't wait to see you!

Don't Be Shy -- Take Your Club Public

One of the most useful collaborative features of Club Accounting Online is the virtual file storage. Every online club has 40MB of space on our servers (expandable upon request), perfect for keeping your club's minutes, bylaws, and stock studies not only safe but instantly accessible to any of your members. (If you aren't yet familiar with this feature, click on the red "File Storage" tab at the top of your Club Accounting Online homepage to see what you've been missing.)

But what if you want to allow the general public to view some of your club's files? Now, common sense dictates that you wouldn't want random web surfers accessing your critical club information (passwords, valuations, social security #s, etc). But wouldn't it be fun to share your SSGs with people outside your investment club?

Club Accounting Online lets you do just that. On your club's File Storage page, you can select any file you've uploaded and mark it for public access. Share that stock study you're so proud of, or publish your club's bylaws to give other investors an idea of how to become as successful and organized as your club is! Or, you can get creative -- upload some of those pictures from CompuFest or your latest Caribbean getaway, and show your friends just how well your dividends paid off!

All you have to do is click the boxes next to the uploaded files you want to make public and click on the "Set Checked as Public/Private" link. Then, copy the public access hyperlink at the bottom of the File Storage page and send it to whomever you choose. Your friends who click on that link will ONLY be able to view the files that your club has designated as "Public," and they will NOT have access to any other part of your club's myiclub website.

So, don't be shy! Take your club public and start sharing your files, whether they're for investing or just for fun. Plus, starting in September, the Insider newsletter will be profiling one Club Accounting Online club every month, showcasing the club's public files, back-story, and investing success. Think your club should have its name in lights? Email us at iclubinsider@gmail.com and tell us why!

New Additions to the ICLUBcentral Family

Summer 2006 has been an invigorating period of expansion for ICLUBcentral, and the dance continues with two new personnel changes in August.

As mentioned earlier in this issue of ICLUB Insider, former technical support representative John McHugh is our new Quality Assurance Engineer. In his third year with ICLUBcentral, John's new focus will be to make the lives of his pals back in tech support as easy as possible by diligently checking all of ICLUBcentral's products and services -- from software updates to this newsletter -- against our quality standards. With John's help, we'll be able to continuously improve our products as we constantly strive for 100% satisfaction.

Also joining the ICLUBcentral team is Annie Walsh, our new financial manager and bookkeeper extraordinaire. A 2001 graduate of Bowdoin College, Annie comes to us from Minneapolis, Minnesota, essentially guaranteeing that the 2006-2007 college hockey season will have violent consequences here in the office (Go Cornell!). She has just recently returned from a six-month stint in rural Peru spent teaching women the basics of personal finance and household money management. When she isn't buried in Excel spreadsheets, Annie enjoys all manner of outdoor activities with her husband Dan, especially backpacking and playing with Smokey, her Alaskan husky.

Finally, we at ICLUBcentral would like to extend our best wishes and congratulations to our Lead Software Engineer Dmitry Gerasimov and his wife Maria, who welcomed their first child into the world this past weekend. Not to be outdone is Director of Technical Support Dan Abraham, whose wife Viv is currently in labor at the time of this publication. Mazel tov and zdorov'ya! We anxiously await the coming weeks when Dan and Dmitry will be coming in to work on the weekends just to get some sleep.
