New Tool Provides Club Guidance on Member Withdrawals
Members can be withdrawn from your investment club on a full or partial basis, and paid off with stock, cash, or a combination of the two (depending on your club's operating agreement). There may be significant advantages and disadvantages to each method of processing a withdrawal, depending on the type of withdrawal and the club's portfolio, so it can sometimes be difficult to determine the best course of action. Now myICLUB.com has a great solution.
myICLUB.com's unique Withdrawal Scenario Calculator is a new tool to help you understand the ramifications and potential best approach when a member departs your club. Get started by entering the details of the member withdrawals, and myICLUB.com will generate a full analysis of the possible withdrawal scenarios that may be best suited for your club's particular circumstances. The report will rank the best options for the member and the club, identify stocks that might be appropriate to sell in order of preference, pinpoint stocks that could be transferred to the member at great benefit to the club, and tell you whether a cash payout is the best choice.
The Withdrawal Scenario Calculator is available in the People tab and the Members section of the Accounting tab on the myICLUB.com website, and can be run at any point when a member withdrawal is in the works. This new tool is only available at myICLUB.com and is yet another reason that myICLUB.com is the leading accounting and operations program for investment clubs.
One Year Ago in Investor Advisory Service: Global Payments
Every month the Investor Advisory Service newsletter recommends three stocks, along with its informative News of Companies analysis, plus rankings and earnings reports and Investment Comments about economic and market trends. In the November 2012 issue of IAS we recommended Global Payments Inc. (ticker: GPN), a credit card processor. Recently our experts returned to take a look at how the company and its stock performed in the year since it was presented to IAS subscribers.
Global Payments processes credit and debit cards for merchants, taking a small fee for each transaction. Although it's costly to build such a complex processing network, those high fixed costs eventually are recouped by millions of transactions, each generating a tiny fee. In recent years, our experts noted that growth had slowed for Global Payments. This resulted in P/E compression, and the stock's price had failed to keep up with its underlying earnings growth. Our methodology led us believe in late 2012 there was a strong value case emerging for Global Payments and an opportunity. Click here to see how Global Payments fared in the year since we recommended it in IAS.
